About Our Bobbins...

We are Vermont Bobbin Collectables, "Manufacturers of Bobbins, Spools & Wire Collectables!" We have scoured the globe in search of the rarest textile bobbins & other antique collectables that are what we call treasures of the past. Today, most collectors are aware of the scarcity of finding antique bobbins. Some bobbins have become extinct. Many other bobbins are headed in the same direction as collectors hoard the few remaining bobbin artifacts available. We have collected these scarce bobbin artifacts from mills all over the country in an effort to provide our customers with the best selection of bobbin artifacts possible. We will continue collecting these treasures as long as we can but they are becoming more difficult to find & once they are gone they are gone & there’s no bringing them back from the past. The majority of our textile bobbins are genuine antiques guaranteed to be 20-100 years old. They were originally used in silk, wool, linen & cotton mills located primarily throughout New England but were also used in other areas of the US as well as in Canada & Europe. Some of our bobbins even have painted ends which indicated specific mill application when they were used. The first bobbins were made of all wood and later fiber material in the mid 1900’s as technology created man made materials that were more efficient & less expensive & today these fiber & plastic bobbins are widely used in modern mills. Wooden bobbins are a thing of the past & are becoming increasingly valuable as they become more rare.Bobbins have many uses, the most obvious is as eye-appealing candleholders but are also commonly used as lamp bases, stands, bookends, craft components for table, shelf or mantle decor in conjunction with dried florals etc. If you know of where there are textile artifacts for sale please let us know as we’d love to be able to preserve our textile heritage by continuing to provide our customers with genuine textile artifacts. We really hope you enjoy collecting our bobbins & other collectables as much as we do.

Good Bobbin Collecting!
